From its headquarters in Orlando, Florida, the Bible-translation organization Wycliffe Associates reaches out in fellowship to people and communities around the world. Since its founding in 1967, Wycliffe Associates supplied remote communities with the tools they need to create vibrant, relevant, and accurate versions of the Bible in their own first languages–their heart languages.

To date, the Bible has been translated into only a fraction of the world’s estimated 7,000 languages. In many small, indigenous communities, which are often severely under-resourced, the number of native speakers of the local heart language is small. But when their church communities receive the Bible translations that Wycliffe Associates supports, people’s lives change, and they become even closer to God and His word.

One speaker of a local language in Zambia described the experience as one in which “God is speaking our language.” Speakers of languages spanning the globe, from conflict-riven regions like Sudan to relatively isolated communities in Papua New Guinea, have been able to grow in their scriptural understanding, discipleship, and missionary work through these church-owned Bible translations.

Wycliffe Associates, working remotely from Orlando, leverages the power of 21st-century technology to make these powerful experiences possible. The organization supplies local communities with generators, satellite connections, secure online working environments, and specialized Bible translation software to enable wide collaboration and networking among translators.
